Toal Engineering provided civil engineering and surveying services for the construction of Villa del Lago, a 12.5-acre estate in Newport Coast, California. The project, billed as “the largest and most private luxury estate in Coastal Orange County,” includes a 16,000 s.f. main residence overlooking a ¾ acre lake, tennis court and pavillion, stables and riding rink, a vineyard, gardens, pool, and guest house, among other improvements. Our services began with the initial topographic survey, and continued with grading, drainage, and erosion control plans for the project. Some of the grading and drainage features included fill slopes approximately 60-feet high to increase the available building pad area. Toal Engineering prepared the project Hydrology Study, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Water Quality Management Plan for the project as well. The project is currently under construction.
